Sua s’dei

I got into the team for OCIP Cambodia Project Dawn 2011. :D

So I'm actually going Cambodia in late May for 15 days... This feels kinda surreal. haha. Hello Cambodia, soon! Hello kids! Hello to doing something meaningful and hopefully helpful to the people there and hello to self-discovery and hello to going somewhere with not much expectations.
Actually I think I'm only going to one part of Cambodia ( Hope Village Prey Veng), so means I still don't get to see my Angkor Wat and the genocide museums there and such. But its okay, there's not what I'm going for.

I'm really glad to be in the team. :) Signing up for this was itself almost an act of rebellion because I wasn't sure if my parents will be in favor or not, & I just went ahead because I know I would have regrets if I don't. (I begged my mom to let me go) Thankfully, I'm going to live in a place with sanitation and beds and such, which put my mom at some ease.
One thing I feel bad about is not telling my dad about me going for the interview for this project days ago, it was my mom who told him. =/ well I was afraid of having to hear my dad says 'no' which was something my mom was close to giving me. Its an act of rebellion after all. I keep praying to God, asking him to 'soften the hearts of my parents'. hahaha.

So when I saw this posted on my dad's facebook wall, I felt really touched/bad/grateful despite some exaggeration there -.- Cannot blame my dad, I didn't fill him in myself, so its not his fault if he get some information wrong.

(translation: My youngest daughter is year 2 in University this year, majoring in sociology, told me that she is going to Cambodia in June for community service.^^ The sister approves, the mother worries but approves! She was worried that I would be against it so she didn't dare to tell me...heard that among 40 people she was the only one who got the interview. A community service plan by a university, going to a place founded by an NGO which is approved by the government, most importantly, the NGO is a local-based Christian organisation! Of course I approve too!!!)

Okay, my dad has some info wrong. I'm still year 1. haha, guess he mix up semester 2 and year 2. I'm going Cambodia late May and will return early June. I think me getting the interview is an act of miracle by God because they only need like 5 people to complete the already-formed team. I find it disconcerting when my dad sometimes, in the moment of being proud of his daughters, exaggerate our abilities too much because I'm not as great as my dad would think I guess. & there is no '40' people. I don't even know how many people was selected to go for interview. gosh, dad..... -.- I wish he don't make such a big deal of things.Everything else my dad wrote about the organisation is true. Hope Village Prey Veng is under Operation Hope Foundation.

And my dad posted that on the facebook account which he use for Christian purposes, like ministering Chinese-speaking Taiwanese, Hongkongers, Malaysians and Singaporeans etc (he is after all, a pastor with a conscious not to game too much on fb and decided to use his fb-savvy skills for some meaningful things). So basically what he post is gonna be viewed by many many many people. -.- gahhh.
still, I feel touched/grateful/bad. I hope whatever I do in life will continue to please them (even if it may require me to rebel a little and make them worry a little). Most importantly I hope that my life is pleasing to God.

should my next act of rebellion be me going to club against their wish? *grins* haha kidding. don't have time for that now.
