and that's what Christmas is about (:
I'm quite terrible at preparing presents. Really have no idea what to get for this gift exchange that feels important but I shall try to come up with something good with my 'ingenious' creativity.
Some days I'm simply nonchalant and indifferent. Yet when such moments arise which reminds me why, I pray very hard that life will be kinder and I'll remind myself that God will watch over this if it is good. The world just seem brighter suddenly when that happens. Like fairy lights on Christmas day, except that I wish the lights wont fade off or be gone like how decorations are teared down after Christmas
Indeed, it is now that I am an adult with a broken and aching heart, but also with a storehouse of memories of His goodness, that I feel a shiver of joy as I sing, “A thrill of hope, the weary world rejoices.”
...
Each year I will approach the season of Advent with a different sigh of weariness, and a different memory of God’s faithfulness. Each year I will choose a different door of the Christmas story, like the Advent calendars we had as children, and I will clear my heart of reason and allow a new, strong and sweet truth to bloom bright within me.
